IT’S TIME TO

IN LOVE WITH NATURE'S ELEGANCE

Broghil Wool was established with the objective of protecting and promoting centuries old traditional fabrics by introducing them on a global scale. Recognizing the unique craftsmanship of local artisans and sustainability of local practices, we are inspired to harness the sustainable and ethically sourced natural wool from the region to produce handcrafted items that embody the essence of Pakistan´s mountainous heritage.

Our goal is to create a platform that not only showcases high-quality handcrafted goods but also fosters an appreciation for the rich cultural fabric of Pakistan internationally. By bringing Chitral’s traditional crafts to the global market, our company aims to highlight the skill, dedication, and artistry of local artisans while supporting the economic sustainability of the community.

Today, our commitment remains steadfast as we continue to expand our reach and influence in the international market. Each product we offer serves as a testament to the beauty and resilience of Chitrali culture, bringing a piece of Pakistani heritage into homes around the world. Through strategic growth and continuous innovation, we are dedicated to achieving our vision and ensuring that our cultural heritage is preserved and celebrated across borders.

Who Am I?

My name is Hanzala Iqbal, a 22-year-old international student from the foothills of the Himalayas, now studying in Oslo, Norway. I am the brain and muscle behind Broghil Wool. I am not only seeking to preserve and share the traditional crafts and practices of my homeland but also to provide an alternative to the unsustainable and destructive clothing industry.

I have seen invaluable traditions and wisdom fading away, particularly our art of crafting premium woolen garments. These garments, created with centuries-old techniques, embody generations of knowledge and provide unmatched comfort and warmth. I know these craftsmen on personal level, and their creations have been my companions on many journeys in mountains. For example the expedition to the basecamp (3967 m) of Nanga Parbat (8196 m).

Inspired by my experiences, I decided to introduce the global community to the rich culture and exquisite craftsmanship of Pakistani mountains. Broghil Wool is the platform to showcase these unique products, ensuring that the wisdom of the past is woven into practical and stylish garments for today. This initiative not only highlights the finest and most sustainable garments but also supports and preserves the cultural heritage of this remarkable community.

Our products, crafted with care and tradition, stand the test of time, offering comfort and durability in today's fast-paced world. Through this platform, I aim to bring the essence of the mountains to you, while sustaining the legacy of our artisans for future generations.

July 2017, 15 year old me wandering in Pakistani mountains.

Gerda Kiik, an international student in Oslo from Estonia, was our first customer. We received a message from her after a couple of months along with this picture. She is wearing our Classic Mountain Jacket and Wool Scarf here.

She says: " Using your things daily :) "

This says a lot without saying much.

Another of our initial customers, August from Norway, has the following opinion about the Classic Mountain Jacket.

"Jacket with a unique style. Excellent during autumn through winter and into early spring. Works best in tempratures ranging from 5 degrees to -10 degress celsius. The jacket lacks a zipper which compromises usage during very windy days, but allows for easy repairs and gives it a more old school apperance. Highly recommend, build a fall, winter and spring wardrobe with the jacket as the fundamental piece."

We always want to hear what you have to say.
